DATA PRINCIPles

  • We use public, open and big data and we add value by extrapolating, compiling and contextualizing data.
  • We support and encourage data re-use with appropriate acknowledgment of data source and Gender Data Balkans’ effort in compiling data from different sources.
  • We make visual data for use by expert and non-expert audiences.
  • We invest extra initial effort to ingest comprehensive elementary-level data and are expecting to invest significantly less effort in modifying the data feed later.
  • We grant different levels of access to data to different user groups based on their needs and our business policies that are governed with a clear set of rules.
  • We have a higher up-front cost for data. As we grow, the cost should reduce as some of the data is automatically refreshed and for the manual updating only the last layer of data collection is required.
  • We synchronise periodically with source to make sure the data feeds are fully updated in line with the source system.
  • We remove data that enables personal identification, where necessary.
